Learn About ServeMedicine
ServeMedicine is a 501(C)3 charitable organization created to provide a FREE psychedelic journey for a person with a life threatening illness or end-of-life diagnosis. My love for all things Grateful Dead - amplified by psychedelics - and my fortuitous participation in the JHU Psilocybin Cancer Study in 2012, when I had a Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, was my inspiration. In addition, my extraordinary experience at Fare Thee Well Chicago transformed me and shifted my vibration at a time I was still suffering from a list of chemo side-effects. Beyond drums and space, and Dr. Mickey on the Beam, was my quantum healing at the second show; now there’s nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile.
I had a dream of easily providing others access to the opportunity I had for psychedelic assisted healing, but without the fear and uncertainty I had about qualifying for a study, or limitations of age and geography. When my husband Donnie Kaplan and I began to put this together Spring 2022 we had no clue Donnie had a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis himself and wouldn’t make it to October for my birthday show at The Kennedy Center with Bobby and the NSO.

I’ve brought my extensive underground experience above ground as a Certified Life Coach and graduate of the first Naropa University MAPS Psychedelic Assisted Therapies Certificate class, and I’m ready for psychedelics to be not only decriminalized, but legal, and no longer on Schedule 1. I’m PRATI certified to facilitate ketamine - ketamine is beneficial for treating anxiety and depression that can accompany a health crisis or EOL diagnosis. Ketamine is a legal psychedelic. Decriminalization has made access and facilitation of a variety of psychedelic journeys a possibility.
I work in the land of Grateful Dead and psychedelics every day. I created this amazing life following cancer. I do what I love every day. And I know miracles can be created no matter what stage of life we are in.
Imagine if people we love could transition feeling loved and connected to a deep sense of knowing and peace. That truly would be compassionate. Imagine if their fear and anxiety was alleviated and their suffering was reduced. And imagine if they and their family had an opportunity to experience their transition as a spiritual opening, feeling love and completion, for all. I know this grace is possible. And what if the healing was so profound from a psychedelic journey that a life threatening illness was no longer life threatening?

Our fundraising concept is four-fold: 1) sales of a psychedelically celebrating crowdsourced book created by Deadheads, 2) tax-deductible donations from individual and corporate donors, and 3) 1,000 pro-bono psychedelic journeys per year provided by trained and vetted facilitators coast to coast, plus 4) creative partnerships at Grateful Dead inspired gatherings everywhere, inviting folks in need to apply for a journey and inviting supporters to donate and participate in events.
“Wake Up To Find Out” is a book we are selling filled with the vivid collection of your stories of how psychedelics and the Grateful Dead together have influenced your life for the better. Shall we go, you and I while we can - through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?
If psychedelics enhanced your life I’d love for you to share your story.
